Step 1

Bake and cool 2-part large cupcake. Assemble on foil-wrapped cake board. Ice cupcake bottom smooth. Use Slide-N-Cut to cut 3 1/2 in. x 4 in. strips from mod dots edible paper. Gently fold in 3/8 in. pleats; attach to cupcake bottom with piping gel. Ice cupcake top fluffy. Use punch with spiral insert to cut approximately 64 spirals from white edible paper. Twist in various shapes and position on cupcake top.

Step 2

For candle, use Slide-N-Cut to cut a purple strip 3 1/2 in. x 6 in. Roll up strip to about 7/8 in. diameter, securing edges with piping gel. Use wide end of tip 2A to cut a purple circle for top candle opening. Use narrow end of tip 6 to cut a small opening for stick. Insert lollipop stick into cake top, leaving 5 in. extended. Position candle over stick; slide candle top onto stick and attach to candle with piping gel.

Step 3

For flame, use rotary cutter to cut two yellow teardrop shapes, 3/4 in. x 1 1/4 in. Stack together, securing shiny sides with piping gel; attach to stick with icing.
