Creepy Skull Cake


No bones about it, this Creepy Skull Cake is a great treat for your Halloween party! Simple enough for decorators of all skill levels, this cake can be completed in only a few easy steps. Best of all, the Skull Tube Cake Pan has holes for the eyes, nose and mouth of your skull, so your cake comes out all ready to decorate! Step 1

Bake and cool cake.

Step 2

Tint icing. Using black icing color, tint 1½ cups icing black; reserve remaining icing white. Ice sides of cake with black icing. Use tapered spatula and black icing to ice inside eyes, nose and mouth cavities.

Step 3

Decorate cake. Prepare decorating bag with tip 2 and 1/3 of remaining black icing. Prepare second decorating bag with remainder of black icing; cut small tip in bag. With cut bag, pipe in eyes, nose and mouth on skull. Ice top of cake with reserved white icing, allowing some black icing to mix in with white. Using bag with tip 2, pipe random lines and smudges on face, spreading across cake with spatula.
