Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have used this recipe on many of my baked goods. It works very well to drizzle over sweets and to frost sugar cookies. Adding food coloring to tint the icing adds an extra layer of fun to any treat. I find that when I am icing sugar cookies I will often add 1/8 teaspoon of milk to the icing bowl as it begins to dry and thicken. This is my kids favorite frosting for sugar cookies. In fact, I never use any other frosting because they won't eat the cookies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this, and so simple. Have also added melted dark chocolate, lemon extract, etc in place of the vanilla with good results. But I ALWAYS add a half pinch of salt to make the sweetness multi dimensional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When we make sugar cookies I like to divide this recipe into several small bowls and color each bowl with a different hue of food coloring. Then I get out the paint brushes and let the kids "paint" the cookies. The kids LOVE it and I find it to be less messy than all the traditional sugar cookie toppings. Fun times :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this to top a Mary Berry sponge tray bake. It was delicious! I will be making it again but I will substitute the vanilla with lemon juice and see how it goes. It looked thick and sticky when first applied but the day after had dried to a nice light crispy layer. My family loved it and ate every bit of the cake, I am making another today.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this icing to decorate Christmas cookies, and I found it was a bit difficult to work with, but it worked well piping with a #3 tip : ) It tasted very good as well :D And adults and kids alike Loved them!!! :D
