Clown Cupcakes is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I took all the Wilton cake decorating classes and learned a lot of wonderful things, but these clowns are still one of the cutest things that have stuck with me. They are not that hard to make. The instruction page on Wilton's website helped me remember the details. When my nephew had his 1st birthday, his mom wanted to do a circus theme. I was soooo excited, because the clowns were the first thing I thought of. I used the technique of striping the icing bag with different colors of gel and then used the white icing to pipe the clowns. This give the clowns the cutest striped outfits when you pipe them! The cake was a big hit and my nephew had fun squashing clowns....=+).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I had just taken a couple of Wilton cake decorating classes and my dad's family was having a reunion. This was the first time that all 7 brothers have been together since my grandma had died. I made a large sheet cake with writing on it and than surrounded the cake with the clown cupcakes. I put each brother's name on the side of the cake along with a clown cupcake next to it. It was so easy to make with the piping, and colors. The hardest part was the writing on the side but I elevated the cake on several boxes and was able to write easily with the piping tool. The clowns were very easy to make. Used differnt color combination with each clown for each brother. The whole family enjoyed it so much, everyone made the brothers eat their cupcake. It was a hit of the party.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I learned how to do this from the Course 1 book. I taught myself before the teacher even showed us how to do it. It takes practice and a steady hand. I did it differently then the instructions say here. My problem was when I was making the legs, one would be too long. So I figured out that if I made them first then I could hide the end of the legs under the body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made these, and they turned out SO VERY MUCH CUTER than I had expected them to! They're really simple to make, and you can get creative by having some of the clowns sit cross-legged or leaning back on their hands. Using the plastic clown heads takes away the most difficult detail, so you can make them cute even without a lot of work!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These went a lot faster once i figured out how to make the first clown. I just did my practicing on wax paper. The kids loved them since it was a lot of frosting.
