The Master Course

Class Description:

Professional course for teachers, bakers, caterers, chefs, enthusiasts or beginners. Designed to prepare students for a career in cake decorating, this course teaches basic techniques to design and decorate party cakes and ultimately, a fully decorated 3-tiered display wedding cake. Students perform all decorating under close supervision and learn to make 18 flowers and 30 different borders. Class materials are furnished, including Decorating Cakes book, tips, flower nails and decorating bags.

Master Course students will also have the opportunity to sign up for valuable supplemental classes, which are offered during the 2-week Master Course session. Individual courses on Gum Paste, Rolled Fondant, Creative Confections and Sugar Artistry enhance the skills learned in the Master Course and introduce students to alternate decorating mediums that can express their talents. Students will receive a Wilton Certificate on completion of each class and will keep all projects.

Weekend Master Course:
Even if you work Monday through Friday, you can still enjoy the world-famous Master Course on weekends! We've made the Master Course more convenient with special Saturday and Sunday sessions held on four consecutive weekends - same content, same expert instruction. El Curso Máster es un curso profesional diseñado para preparar a los estudiantes para una carrera en el campo de decoración de pasteles. Este curso de dos semanas enseña técnicas básicas para diseñar y decorar pasteles de fiesta. Se brinda instrucción individualizada y los estudiantes aprenderán a hacer 18 diferentes flores y 25 tipos de bordes. El proyecto final es realizar un pastel decorado de tres pisos para boda.

  • Demonstration: Coloring techique, highlighting with Pearl Dust and how to wire flowers

  • More flower making for 3-tier cake
  • Fill & frost an 8" real cake. Apply decorating techniques as demonstrated by instructor
  • Begin assembly of 3-tier cake

Day 9

  • Finish decorating individual 3-tier cake
