Chocolate Roll-Out Cookies let you cut fun shapes and holiday designs that are both delicious and interesting, even without additional decorations!

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Step 2

In large mixing bowl, beat together butter and sugar with mixer until light and fluffy.

Step 3

Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Blend in chocolate.

Step 4

Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until smooth.

Step 5

Cover and chill until firm, about 1 hour.

Step 6

Roll dough approximately 1/8 in. thick.

Step 7

Dip cutters in flour, cut and transfer cookies to cookie sheet.

Step 8

Bake 8-10 minutes.

Step 9

Remove to rack and cool thoroughly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My two young grandaughters and I made these cookies. What fun! What a great taste!. So versitile when it comes to choosing decorations. There does not seem to be that many chocolate cookie recipe's out there anymore. This is my favorite so far. Thankyou!
