Step 1

Make candy circles. Melt red, light cocoa, pink and white Candy Melts candy, separately, according to package directions. Use melted candy in cut parchment bags to pipe circles, 1 1/4 in. dia., on parchment-covered board. Chill until firm, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 2

Decorate candy circles. Keep circles on parchment-covered board. Use melted candy in cut parchment bags to decorate heart design using dots, fill-in or scrolls. Use melted candy in cut parchment bag to pipe scallop or dot border on some circles. Chill until firm, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 3

Make cupcakes. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cupcakes.

Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Use tip 2A, cut disposable decorating bag and icing to pipe a swirl on cupcake tops. Place candy circles on cupcake top.
