Fun to assemble and decorate for the whole family.
The enchanted gingerbread chalet has candy decorations everywhere you look?on the roof, around the doors and windows and along the sidewalk.
What a great centerpiece of magical creation to place on your holiday mantle.
Divide prepared decorating icing in half. Use half for decorating the house now, the other half for adding "snow" around house later (keep covered with a damp cloth).
Fill decorating bag with 1/2 cup icing.
Cut some gum drop candy rings in halves. Cut some mini sugared gum drops in half. Roll out some mini sugared gum drops and cut into rectangles for windows and diamond for top front window.
Outline door and door window. Fill in door with zigzags (pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Attach mini multi-colored candies to sides of door and for doorknob with dots of icing. Attach gum drop candy ring half to top of door with dots of icing.
Attach mini sugared gum drop windows with dots of icing. Outline windows and window panes. Decorate window sills with icicles. Attach mini sugared gum drop halves to window sills with dots of icing. On front windows, attach gum drop candy ring quarter to top with dots of icing. Decorate above front windows with dots of icing. Attach mini multi-colored candies around top front window and to top of side and back windows with dots of icing.
Decorate seams of house with outlines.
Ice roof smooth. Divide each side of roof into fifths. Decorate roof with 5 rows of wavy lines. Attach mini multi-colored candies to lines. Attach whole gum drop candy rings to roof peak. Attach whole mini sugared gum drops to gum drop candy rings with dots of icing. Decorate eaves with icicles. Attach mini sugared gum drop halves to eaves with dots of icing.
Ice snow on base fluffy. Attach gum drop candy ring halves in front of door for walkway.

The only 'difficult' part was putting the four walls together! After that it was all fun! I just wouldn't use the icing mix that came in the box. Your own royal icing is much better!!!

My 7 yr old son and I did this last year for our "Mom and me" holiday project! He loved helping..I did have to put the house together but he loved adding all the candy!
