Step 1

Make patterns for cutting buggy sections. Tape parchment paper over back of baby buggy pan. Use fine-tip marker to trace four canopy sections, buggy bottom and rim. Use scissors to cut out six pattern pieces.

Step 2

Bake and cool baby buggy cake. Cake is one layer, 2 in. high. Position cake on foil-wrapped board, cut to fit. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Use spatula to ice cake smooth.

Step 3

Make buggy sections. Use patterns and scissors to cut out buggy bottom and four canopy sections from camouflage Sugar Sheets! edible decorating paper. Cut buggy rim from dark green edible decorating paper. Use brush and piping gel to attach to cake top.

Step 4

Make fondant buggy trims. Tint 3 oz. fondant black, 1 1/2 oz. gray; reserve 2 oz. white.

For handle, use jewelry fondant and gum paste mold and black fondant to make a chain link border. Use piping gel to attach to cake, curving for hand grip.

For axles, use jewelry mold and gray fondant to make two round gems. Use 9 in. fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out remaining gray fondant _1/16 in. thick. For hubcaps, use third largest (3 1/4 in.) cutter from 4-pc. circles nesting metal cutter set to cut two rounds. Use damp brush to attach axles in center. Use narrow end of tip 2A to cut six holes, 1/4 in. from axle and 1/4 in. apart. Brush back of circle with piping gel and attach hubcaps to cake.

For tires, use jewelry mold and black fondant to make three square chain borders. Use piping gel to attach 1 1/2 borders in each wheel area. Trim to fit.

Step 5

Make bottom border. Use jewelry mold and white fondant to make 5 1/2 chain link borders. Brush backs with piping gel and attach around cake, trimming as needed.

Step 6

Make head. Tint 1 3/4 oz. fondant copper, 1 oz. moss green/black combination (for green), a 3/8 in. dia. ball of brown and a 1/4 in. dia. ball of black. Shape 1 1/2 oz. copper into a ball and flatten to a dome shape, 2 1/4 in. dia. Use rounded end of thick modeling stick from 10-pc. gum paste/fondant tool set to indent dimples and smile. Use brush and orchid pink Pearl Dust to highlight cheeks. Use piping gel to attach all features as follows: For nose, roll a copper ball, 1/4 in. dia. Flatten slightly and attach. For each ear, roll a copper ball, 3/8 in. dia. Shape into teardrop, flatten slightly. Use rounded end of thick modeling stick to cup. Attach to head; brush with water to blend edges. For eyes, roll brown balls, 1/4 in. dia.; flatten and attach. For pupils, roll black balls, 1/8 in. dia.; attach. For eyebrows, roll brown logs, 1/16 in. dia. x 3/8 in. long; attach.

Step 7

Make hat and pacifier. For green hat, use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out fondant 1/8 in. thick. For top, cut a rectangle, 1 3/4 in. wide x 1 1/2 in. high. Trim sides so top edge tapers in 1/8 in. on both sides. Use piping gel to attach around top of head. For hat brim, cut a half oval, 1 in. wide x 5/8 in. long. Use small veining tool from set to indent lines on hat and brim. Use damp brush to attach brim. For green pacifier, roll a ball, 1/4 in. dia. and flatten for base. Roll a ball, 1/8 in dia., for top. Attach. Position head on cake.
