Bake cupcakes. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cupcakes in white baking cups.
Tint icing. Tint 1 cup white icing each bright red, bright yellow, dark red and gold using color combinations provided. *Combine Red-Red, touch of Christmas Red and touch of Black icing colors to get bright red color shown. Combine Golden Yellow and touch of Red-Red icing colors to get bright yellow color shown. Combine Red-Red, Black and touch of Christmas Red icing colors to get dark red color shown. Combine Brown, Black, touch of Red-Red and touch of Golden Yellow icing colors to get gold color shown. Reserve remaining icing white.
Decorate cupcakes. Prepare decorating bags with the following tips and icing:
- Tip 21 and white icing
- Tip 6B and bright red icing
- Tip 1M and bright yellow icing
- Tip 4B and bag striped with bright red and bright yellow icing
- Tip 6B and dark red icing
- Tip 1M and gold icing
- Tip 4B and bag striped with dark red and gold icing
Divide cupcakes into two equal batches. Using white, bright red, bright yellow and striped bag (bright red/bright yellow), pipe stars to cover cupcakes.
Using white, dark red, gold and striped bag (dark red/gold), pipe stars to cover second batch of cupcakes.
Top cupcakes with desired sprinkles.
