Step 1

2 DAYS IN ADVANCE

Make cookies. Prepare and roll out cookie dough following recipe directions. Use duck and largest round (3 5/8 in.) cutters from 101 cookie cutters set to cut one each duck and baby cookie. Bake and cool cookies.

Step 2

Decorate cookies. Prepare Color Flow icing following recipe directions. Tint portions brown/red-red combination (for skin tone shown), lemon yellow/golden yellow combination (for yellow), black and a small amount orange.

Place cookies on cooling grid over parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. For baby, use toothpick and pattern to mark mouth. Use spatula and full-strength black icing to ice mouth area smooth. Use tip 3 and black icing to outline mouth. Let dry 1 hour. Use thinned skin tone icing in cut disposable bag to flow in remaining face area. Tap to settle.

For duck, use thinned orange icing in cut disposable bag to flow in beak. Tap to settle. Let dry 1 hour. Use thinned yellow icing in cut disposable bag to flow in remainder of duck. Tap to settle. Let cookies dry 24 hours. Reserve remaining full-strength icing.

Step 3

1 DAY IN ADVANCE

Decorate features on cookies. Use tip 12 and reserved skin tone icing to pipe dot nose on baby. Use tip 3 and full-strength black icing to pipe outline eyes on baby and duck. Let dry, 2 to 3 hours.

Step 4

Bake and cool baby buggy cake. Cake is one layer, 2 in. high. Position cake on foil-wrapped cake board, cut to fit. Use knife to trim off wheel details. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint a portion light royal blue. Reserve remaining white.

Step 5

Decorate cake. Use spatula and light blue icing to ice cake sides and background areas, including canopy area, smooth.

Use tip 3 and white icing to outline body of tub. Use tip 16 and white icing to fill in tub with stars. Use tip 1A and white icing to pipe swirled top rim of tub and two V-shaped tub feet. Use tip 16 and white icing to cover rim and feet with stars.

Position baby and duck cookies. Use tip 12 and white icing to pipe mound to support cookies as needed. Use tips 1A and 12 and white icing to pipe various sized ball bubbles. Use tip 3 and light blue icing to print message. Use tip 6 and light blue icing to pipe bead bottom border.
