The drop string is traditionally used as decoration on the sides of the cake and is the basis of more ornate string work. Called a "drop" string because the line of piped icing is allowed to "drop" or fall, by itself, before reattaching it to your cake. Pipe a row of single strings or multiple strings in rows of two or three.

The bead shape makes impressive borders outlines and accents on letters and designs; also a cute trim on clothing and gingerbread houses. The basis for making piped hearts and figure piping.

Breathtaking Floral-Crowned Fondant Cake is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The most important step to making this look great is making sure your cake it level first. I also suggest making your flowers in advance and a few extra just in case you break one or find they are not dry in time for your party. I had a great time making this cake. I rolled marbled fondant over the whole cake and topped it with roses lightly dusted with silver petal dust. Make sure you use the fondant smoothers to give your cake clean lines. My family and friends thought the flowers on top were real. They could not believe it was made at home.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I had completed a similar design in my level 3 class. I like working the fondant, it is somewhat challenging. Fondant makes beautiful cake the, flowers I used was calia lilies and roses made out of gum paste. My colors were purple fondant on the cake and pink roses. As the boarder I used gum paste and in brown and gray to make different stones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was the similar design that I had to do in my level 3 class. I did not care for working the fondant, but it made a beautiful cake the, flowers we used a set of calia forms which made them easy to handle. The dotting and chain were the easiest part for me. We used our own colors, mine was peach with yellow flowers and light green accents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flowers entail alot of patience. Beautiful job on the detail and Fondant. The pearls look stunning which Im sure took alot of time and the small shells add a small touch to the cake. This blue has always been an eye catcher for anyone. The light green on the leafs look natural. The flowers look so real they look fragile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I ruled this Medium, but for those who are not good with sugar flowers, it would be somewhat difficult. The result was absolutely beautiful in its simplicity. Its a perfect example of 'less is more'. After baking the cake and applying the fondant and creating the sugar flowers, its smooth sailing. Sure crowd pleaser!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was my first cake I made after my basic Wilton class. I thought that it was an easy cake to make and the instructions were very clear and helpful. The final cake look very nice. The only difference I did with my cake were the colors I did pastel colors!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a beautiful cake. Not hard to decorate, but still very elegant. I suggest also using a Calla Lily topper. Change the colors for different events. This is a timely design.
