Decorate the bluebird of happiness as your favorite hard-cooked Easter egg. The beautiful bright blue is easy to achieve with either Wilton Blue Gel Food Color or Sky Blue Icing Color.

Step 1
Color egg blue; let dry.
Step 2
Tint 3/4 in. ball fondant blue for each egg. Roll out blue fondant and cut two oval wings each 1 in. x 1 in. long. Trim to match curve of egg and feather edges; cut two spikes for hair, 3/8 in. long.
Step 3
Tint 3/8 in. ball fondant pink/rose. Roll out pink/rose fondant and cut diamond shape for beak, 1 in. long x 1/2 in. wide; fold in half.
Step 4
Tint 2 1/2 oz. fondant brown. Make nest using brown fondant: Roll into logs and shape into a round with an indentation to securely hold egg upright.
Step 5
Attach all fondant pieces to egg using brush and piping gel.
Step 6
Attach candy eyeballs with piping gel. Let dry.
