Blue Heart Mini Cakes
Fondant-covered heart cakes wrapped in a bow are the ideal Valentine?s
Day gift for someone you love! Create these mini cakes using the Wilton Non-Stick Mini Heart Pan.
Each treat serves 1
Make mini heart cakes. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cakes completely according to pan package directions.
Cover mini cakes with fondant. Tint fondant blue, reserve a portion white. Use fondant roller and pink guide rings to roll out blue fondant 1/16 in. thick.
Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Use spatula to ice cakes lightly;
cover in fondant. Use knife to trim excess fondant from bottom edge.
Decorate mini cakes. Make ribbons, bow and knot. Use fondant roller and pink guide rings to roll out white fondant 1/16 in. thick.
For ribbons, use knife to cut one strip, 4 in. long x 1/4 in. wide. Use damp brush to attach to cake on a diagonal.
For bow loops, cut two strips, each 1 in. long x 1/4 in. wide. Fold loops and use damp brush to attach.
For knot, cut a piece, 1/4 in. x 3/4 in. Wrap around bow center and use damp brush to attach.
Nothing says "celebrate" like a cake topped with a lush fondant bow. While the bow looks intricate, it's really just a grouping of fondant strips, folded, wrapped and arranged to create a full effect. When you cut strips with the Fondant Ribbon Cutter/ Embosser, you can create bows with stripes or beaded edge embossed designs. Or place fondant on Imprint Mat and roll over one time to imprint design.
