As an employee of Wilton, I am always inspired by our vast array of products. This year, I decided to host a Gingerbread House decorating party and I used all kinds of great Wilton products to make it a memorable party for all of our guests. We decided to host it early in the season when people are not as busy. What a great way to kick off the holidays!
I used the Greeting Card Candy Kit to extend the invitation to our guests. Since the guests were neighbors, we hand delivered the invites. It was an easy way to set the tone that this was going to be a colorful, sweet and fun event!
On the day of the party, we greeted the children with a cup of hot cocoa dressed with the Cocoa Trimming Kit. The children loved the charm of the snowman.
Adults were served a special gingerbread martini garnished with the Peppermint Candy Curl. They enjoyed their drink and conversation while the children were busy decorating their houses.
As the centerpiece of the table, I placed the Snowman Sprinkles Stacking Set. He is adorable and the snowflake sprinkles were a great addition to the houses.
I used the Icing Decoration Tags as place cards for the table. After they were done decorating, the tag was placed at the base of the house so children knew which house to take home. The tags are edible (names written in edible marker) which added that extra sweet touch to the houses.
In addition to the houses being pre-assembled, I made the icing and assembled the decorating bags in advance so the children could get right to decorating. The children delighted in adorning their houses with the Gingerbread Icing Decorations which are super cute and so easy. We also had the Holiday Candies Assortment on hand since everyone loves to munch on candy while decorating. They all did a great job and really enjoyed decorating their houses.
I believe every party needs both sweet and savory offerings. In keeping with the holiday spirit, I made a pizza with a jumbo gingerbread man pan and cut finger sandwiches with a star cookie cutter. Sandwiches were displayed on the Holiday Treat Stand. Snacks like popcorn and crackers were displayed in Wilton Disposable Treat Containers. They not only lent holiday spirit to the table, they didn’t need to be washed afterward! Holiday Fun Picks were used to serve cheese and sausage.
Adults received a treat bag with sprinkles, a cookie cutter and our Wilton recipe for rolled sugar cookies to get them started with their holiday baking. Children received a Holiday Candy Necklace to assemble and enjoy the next day while they admire their adorable Gingerbread Houses.
We all had such a great time and it was nice to create memories with friends during the holiday season. Nothing is more precious than spending time with people we care about, and a Gingerbread Party is the perfect opportunity to gather a group and enjoy an afternoon of holiday crafting fun.
