Every year my mom makes a Lamb Cake for Easter dessert. Her cakes are always a big hit. This year, I plan to decorate cupcakes as my contribution to the dessert table. I’m new to treat decorating and am excited to share what I’ve learned.
Easter is a few weeks away, but I wanted to practice my decorating techniques before the holiday. I love cupcakes for so many reasons, but one big reason is you can decorate each cupcake differently. Wilton has so many great ideas and products to make this a fun and easy activity.
I started out by baking traditional vanilla cupcakes in Shaped Eggs Standard Baking Cups. Themed baking cups are an easy way to add fun and color. Another batch was baked in white baking cups and after cooling and decorating, were wrapped in Picket Fence Cupcake Wraps.
I used Wilton Decorator Icing mixed with Kelly Green icing color and decorating tip 233 to top the cupcakes with grass. The grass technique is very easy to do, and it adds so much interest. A few of the other cupcakes were topped with a swirl using a 1B decorating tip.

The finishing touches were added using adorable Butterfly Icing Decorations, Nest with Jelly Beans Royal Icing Decorations, Bunny with Jelly Bean Royal Icing Decorations and Bunny Tail Fun Pix (I love these because they have a cute little fuzzy tail!).
The cupcakes were so fun and easy to make! I can’t wait to share them with my family on Easter. Be sure to check out more great Easter cupcake ideas on our website.
