New Wilton Decorating Bag Tip and Icing Color Organizers

April 6th, 2012 by Mason Umholtz

We know how important organization, storage, and work space are to decorators, and the new Decorating Bag Tip Organizer and Icing Color Organizer were designed with that mind. Both, like all of our new Wilton tools, are intended to make it easier for you to Decorate Smart.

When beginning a project that involves redesigning an existing item, a good place to start is to use any predecessors to identify what works well, along with anything that doesn’t or is missing all together.

After examining the old decorating tip case and observing decorators in action, the Wilton design team identified several ways we could make something that was more useful for our customers during the cake decorating process, during transport, and for storing at home.  We included those improvements in our new Tip Organizer.Decorating Bag Tip Organizer

The new Wilton Decorating Bag Tip Organizer holds 55 standard-sized decorating tips and also allows for the stacking of tips. It keeps all of your standard tips contained and protected in a handy upright position. We not only improved how securely the tips are kept in place, but we also reduced the space it takes up. The new Tip Organizer includes a secure but easily removable lid that nests neatly underneath the main container.

The lid when stacked underneath also props your tips up at a slight angle improving visibility to help more quickly identify your desired tip style. Large tips, bag couplers, and flower nails, which were commonly stored in separate locations due to their size and shape, now have a home with the rest of your tip collection in their own compartment. In addition, the new Tip Organizer stacks conveniently with our new Icing Color Organizer and stows perfectly in our new Wilton Decorator Preferred Carry- All Tote.

Up to 20 of our 1/2 ounce or 1 ounce Icing Color containers can now be held securely in place to prevent any from rolling around and spilling during transport. There is even a spot for toothpicks, which are commonly used for adding color to buttercream and fondant.  For storage, both the tip case and the color case stack together on top of one another – again trying to save both storage and workplace space.  In addition, the Icing Color organizer stows perfectly in the new Wilton Tote.

So, how did we do?  Do you think the Decorating Bag Tip Organizer and Icing Color Organizer will make your decorating easier?Tip Organizer and Icing Color Organizer

OMGosh! I think these two items will be worth their weight in gold! Are they available in Canada? At other retailers? I usually get most of my Wiltons products from Michaels. I’m loving these! Thank you for seeing what we REALLY need!

I wish Wilton came up with this idea before!
I already have two of the old containers from Wilton…
    I don’t think I’ll get this container just yet…

  4. I need both of these items since every thing is stored in seperate boxes and take up way to much room!

  5. Claudia says:

Oh my goodness! I so need to get me one of these organizers. Right now I have two decorating tip containers holding my tips, but having them in one location for easy access is so COOL! When will these organizers become available in stores?

  6. Tina says:

I agree with Candice – these containers look fabulous and I will be getting them right away!

  7. Cheryl says:

I need about 10 of these!!

  8. Melissa says:

I think the icing color organizer would defiantly be a bonus and keeps any leaking in one area.

Im from Guatemala where can i get them

My problem with the tip organizer is that I have a lot of the large tips, I don’t think they will all fit in the little space provided. Why not just make a separate organizer just for the larger tips?

    • Remy says:

I totally agree! I have had to use 3 of the tip containers due to all the larger tips!

I also agree with this. I have every one of the Wilton tips, large and small. I have the old model of the tip case, which I inherited from my mother-in-law. It will hold 3 of the large tips. It would be a great idea for Wilton to design a case just for the large tips. I would be so ever grateful. Right now, the large tips are stored in a “baggie”.

Very interested in this tool – particularly the color one to avoid leaks. The tips one – just not useful. One its too small – I have well over 100 tips. And I agree with the other ladies – make one for larger tips. But again – with a higher capacity. Thanks wilton.

I purchased the The New Icing Color Organizer. Looks nice. But there is one problem….The “Snap on Lid” does not snap, so the lid is not secure. There is a snap on both sides and neither one snaps. I will return this product. very poor design.

I also purchased the tools/spatula container with the divided sections and it too has the same snap lid. I can actually get the “snap” to close if I pinch the top and the bottom. Very poor design. Looks to me like the new snaps are not going to hold up…..

I too wish the “new” tip holder had some spots for the larger tips to fit. as well as for some couplers to fit. Only the small tips will fit into the “circles” in the lid that hold the tips in place. Why were not a few of these “circles” made large enough to hold larger tips, as well as couplers? At least in the original tip holder, larger tips and couplers could be placed in the corners. If I put 4 couplers in the little “box” in the tip storage container, there is absoutely no place for the larger tips. Disappointed. I only purchased the “new” tip holder because after about 35 years, the little piece of plastic that held the lid closed finally broke on the “original” one. When I went to purchase new one, I found it had been replaced.

ISO the case that was included in the deluxe set Wilton or the one that wheels.

I bought the color organizer and am still disappointed. The color still leaks and makes a mess of organizer and hands when using them. Wilton should redesign the color containers!
