Summer vacation is the time to keep children occupied with fun activities. Teens especially love hanging out with their friends watching movies. When my daughter recently invited some friends over for Friday night movies, I thought of the perfect treat for them – an “Admit One” rice cereal treat! Kids love rice cereal treats, and I love not turning on the oven in the summer!
Make the rice cereal treats following the instructions on the cereal box. I lined a brownie pan with plastic wrap and pushed the treats into the pan. Once it was shaped, I removed it from the pan and placed it on a cake board.
I then took my circle cutter and pressed it down on all four corners. I removed the cutter and used a butter knife to cut through the treat. I then shaped the edges by pushing the treats together. I used a spatula and Decorator Icing to ice my treats.
After kneading the red candy clay, I sprinkled confectioner’s sugar on the countertop and rolled out the candy clay using a Perfect Height Rolling Pin. I put this on top of my iced treat and used an Easy Glide Fondant Smoother to cover the treat smooth, and a Cutter/Embosser to cut away the excess.
I dipped the three stars insert from the 3 pc Layered Stars Cutting Insert in confectioner’s sugar and put that in the Punch Base. I then used a Black Sugar Sheet Edible Decorating Paper to cut out my stars. I dipped my brush in water and applied it to the back of the stars and placed them on my treat.
This was one of the quickest and easiest treats I’ve ever decorated! And the teens enjoyed this treat as much as the popcorn!!!
