Friends, family, fireworks, and of course, cookouts. The 4th of July has become a day not only to celebrate our country, but also to spend quality time with the people you love. What better way to celebrate than with a cookout? And, who better to better to help you do this than Wilton?
Wow your cookout guests with star-shaped hamburgers! To make the buns, start with the Mini Star pan. I bought premade butter flavor biscuits; you can use this or your favorite bread recipe. Spray the pan with Bake Easy™ Non-Stick Spray and press the dough in. Make sure to get every corner of the star. Bake until golden brown.
To make the actual hamburger, use ground beef or ground turkey. Press firmly into the largest cutter from the Stars Nesting Metal Cutter Set. Grill very carefully! I admit grilling is out of my element and it can be difficult to grill the star to keep its shape, but if I can do it, you can too !
You can also use the star cutters to cut your toppings such as cheese and lettuce. For the condiments, I used the Patriotic Party Cups. Finish off the hamburgers with the Stars & Stripes Party Picks and your guests will love it!
For beverages, Wilton has a new Star Ice Kabob Mold. Add just a little bit of red and blue icing color to the water before pouring it into the mold. It has the effect of changing the beverage that color! Don’t worry; it did not affect the taste of the refreshing ice water.
And what cookout, or Wilton project for that matter, is complete without dessert? The Patriotic Petal Cups with Patriotic Foil Pix® will bring the pop to your picnic table. I topped it off with my personal favorite frosting, Vanilla Whipped Icing Mix and Patriotic Mix Sprinkle Decorations.
The 4th of July can bring many good times and makes great memories. I hope you enjoy your celebration and thank you for allowing Wilton to be a part of it!
