Make Memories This Christmas: Build a Gingerbread House

As the aunt of four boys and the “they call me aunt” of my best friends’ kids, I like to make time during the holiday season to spend an afternoon with these amazing kids doing something fun. First, it’s a great way to make special, cherished memories for them and for me! Second, it gives their parents a chance to run errands kid-free. And third, I like sharing what I know while we do something fun for both of us! My hands-down favorite activity to do with the kids this season: the gingerbread house project! (more…)

Dads: Stuff You Need to Know to Create an Epic Gingerbread Experience with Your Kids

I am a guy, so it won’t come as a surprise that I like to build stuff. I am not alone. It’s part of our male DNA. It’s something that is passed on from generation to generation. We like to tinker, put stuff together, figure out how it works, play with cool tools, and conquer challenges. Something else I like to do – spend time with my kids. But I will be honest – I am not as patient or as selfless with my time as my wife. I want to find something they like doing but I like to do as well – yeah, I guess that makes me just a really old kid. So, I am always on the look-out for something fun to do with my children.
