Whether it is for a family celebration, holiday, school bake sale or just for the fun of it, baking is a great activity. Plus, we all know there are few better smells than the scent of fresh baked cakes, breads or cookies filling the house. This enjoyment can seem out of reach for those who have to stick to a gluten-free diet. Have no fear! I am here to help you â€śsiftâ€ť through some of the guidelines to gluten-free baking.
Okay â€¦ itâ€™s confession time. Despite the fact that Iâ€™ve been baking since I was a little kid, and Iâ€™ve been developing baked good recipes my entire career AND Iâ€™ve worked in the Wilton test kitchen for over 9 years, Iâ€™m not really a cake decorator.
Several years ago when we launched our Ultimate Caddy, we knew that a rolling version would be an ideal addition for our decorating customers. I have been decorating cakes for awhile now. Whenever I decorate fondant-covered cakes Iâ€™m usually asked, â€śhow do you get the fondant so smooth?â€ť It does take some practice, but having one specific tool on hand makes it so easy – the fondant smoother. (more…)
