    need to know how to make a cake that is made up out of a whole bunch of cupcakes (I guess it looks like one hwole cake) Any pictures and directions

    Mine is a question but didn’t know where else to put it. Your instructions on the cake box for the checkerboard cake recipe says to divide batter “in half” to make the chocolate portion. What is the total or half batter volume? “Eyeballing it” is OK but I’m not comfortable with the splitting. Thanks a million. Dee

      Dee, according to our Test Kitchen, it depends on the manufacturer and your technique for making the mix. From our following package instructions exactly (including using a timer) with the Kitchenaid mixer, the batter ranges from 4 3/4 to 5 1/2 cups. If a smaller mixer was used or the mix wasn’t beaten long enough, the volumes might be less. If you want to be exact, we suggest measuring out the batter cup by cup between 2 bowls. Hope this helps.

    You look terrific! Phil and I are so proud of your success at Wilton and enjoy being able to see you on Facebook and Youtube! Phil and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this week — wish you were here to celebrate it with us — we couldnt be happier. Hope you are well.
