Step 1

In advance: Make royal icing flowers. Use Flower Templates, Flower Squares and Decorating Guide from associated links, to make assorted flowers: roses using tips 12, 104; pompom flowers using tips 12, 16, 18; ribbon roses using tips 12, 104; primroses using tips 1, 14, 104; daffodils using tips 1, 3, 104; violets using tips 1, 59s. Let dry on cornstarch-dusted boards.

Step 2

Bake and cool 1-layer cake. Level to 1 1/4 in. high. Cut into 2 in. squares. Set on cooling grid placed over waxed paper-covered drip pan. Cover with heated icing. Let set. Attach flowers using Decorator Icing. Pipe tip 352 leaves on all flowers.
