Also: Make scallops for cake pedestal. Roll out gum paste 1/8 in. thick. Use pattern and knife to cut nine scallops. Place scallops under storage board flap. To shape scallops, dust cake pedestal lightly with cornstarch. Center 8 in. cake board on cake pedestal. Using cake board as a guide, position 1 in. of scallop ends on pedestal plate, then bend down scallops to drape down from pedestal. Let dry on pedestal for 2 days, then remove.
