1 day in advance: Make fondant trims. Roll out white fondant 1/8 in. thick
for wing and 1/2 in. thick for tail. Use patterns and knife to cut out. Tint
6 oz. fondant violet, 3 oz. rose. Roll out fondant as directed and use
patterns and knife to cut trims as follows: 1/2 in. thick hat and purse, 3/8 in.
thick beak and leg, 1/8 in. thick purse flap. Attach flap to purse with damp
brush. Roll out remaining rose fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use narrow end of
tip 2A to cut six polka dots; attach to hat with damp brush, trimming as
needed. For purse snap, roll two rose fondant balls 3/16 in. Pinch at one
end and flatten to form heart shape. Attach to purse with damp brush.
Brush hat and purse with white Pearl Dust. For pompom, cut a 1 in. x
6 in. strip. Cut 3/4 in. deep slits for fringe. Brush uncut portion with water
and roll up strip. Adjust fringe with fingers for a full look. Attach to hat
with damp brush. Let all dry on cornstarch-dusted board.
