Rated 5 out of 5 by teaby2 from I have always wondered about the gingerbread Kits and now I am really wantiing to try one. It certainly doesn't look too difficult! I think that the instructor is absolutely correct in pointing out that it takes a bit of pre-planning, but with a little bit of effort I can see that this would be a fun project to do with a child, IF the house was already pre-assembled, as children aren't great at waiting for things to dry. I am definitely going to try this one out this holiday with my favorite little friend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MediaGuide from Have fun, Buy extra candy I've assembled these houses for years and what people don't understand is that you really need to let the house sit for a few hours before you decorate it. I think it's great fun and they always turn out great as long as I buy plenty of extra candy. I think the house used to be bigger, and a larger cardboard base would be nice as well. But as long as you take your time and have fun - you really can't make a bad house! Just enjoy and don't take it too seriously! I also wrap mine in clear cellophane/acetate with a huge bow to give as gifts. Always a hit! Especially for my sister the teacher who brings it in after the holidays for the kids to break open like a piñata! I stuff the inside of the house with candy so everyone will have something to enjoy!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bored in Iowa from Instruction sheet not included in box Purchased the Wilton Gingerbread House Kit made exclusively from Michaels this season. Assembled with my elderly mother, she found it difficult to assemble and became bored. Unfortunately she ate all the decorative candy. This resulted in a visit to the ER, as she is a diabetic. I would not recommend this product for women over 74 that have lived in the midwest for over 10 years. They suffer from a short attention span.

Rated 1 out of 5 by nancy515 from I purchased the Wilton Gingerbread Mini Village Kit. What a nightmare. I have done gingerbread houses before, so I have some experience. The main issue is the ready to use frosting..what a joke. This stuff wouldn't hold a tissue together. 3 hours later and it is still not dry. The little A-Frame house just falls over. I think I will make my own royal icing for the remainder of the little houses. I am very disappointed with this product.
