Make wings, tail and beak. For each treat, knead 1/4 teaspoon Gum-Tex into a 1 1/4 in.
dia. ball of black fondant. Use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out
fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use medium leaf Cut-Out to cut two wings for each treat (reverse
one for each pair). Place wings on thin shaping foam. Use large veining tool from
10-pc. gum paste/fondant tool set to score feather lines.
For tail, use knife to cut a rectangle, 1/2 in. x 1 1/2 in. Use veining tool to score feather lines.
Let dry 3 to 4 hours on wave flower former.
For beak, roll a ball, 3/8 in. dia. Shape into a cone, 3/8 in. dia. x 5/8 in. long. Use knife to cut
a slit for open beaks, or score a line for closed beaks.
Make cake pops.Prepare cake pops mixture following recipe directions. Use 4
teaspoons of mixture to shape a teardrop for body. Use 1 teaspoon of mixture to
shape a ball for head. Melt black Candy Melts candy according to package directions.
Insert lollipop stick into body following recipe directions. Use melted candy in a cut
parchment bag to attach head to body. Chill until firm, 3 to 5 minutes. Dip pops in
melted candy. Chill until firm, 10 to 15 minutes.
Assemble treats. Use melted candy in cut parchment bag to attach wings, tail and
