The job in a nutshell is support the Accounts Payable team by performing a variety of accounting and clerical related functions. In addition to maintaining vendor files, responding to vendor inquiries and entering invoices for payment; verification of proper invoice approvals and general ledger coding will be required. Along with month-end assistance and other AP accounting projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required, college background in accounting a plus
  • 3 years related clerical experience in Accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MSWord and MS Outlook
  • Good math aptitude
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace high pressure environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • JD Edwards experience preferred

Accounting – Staff Accountant – Corporate

The job in a nutshell is to prepare monthly journal entries and account analysis. Reconcile all bank accounts and complete related journal entries. Process the daily transactions for the Retail Store and the inter-company transactions with our Canadian office. Handle all accounting related to Broker Commissions and Foreign Agents commissions and expenses. Assist with various analysis as well as special accounting projects. Position will work with most areas of the company and will have contact with external auditors and occasional contact with senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of General Accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail is required.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are vital.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills are mandatory. Basic MS Word and MS Access is a plus.
  • Exposure to business enterprise systems helpful, particularly JDEdwards.
  • Efficient organization and clear and concise presentation skills are required.
  • Decision making abilities commensurate with job responsibilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet various deadlines.

Inventory – Inventory Analyst – Corporate

You'll like this job if you can spend hours at a time doing a jigsaw puzzle or playing Soduko.

The job in a nutshell is to manage the replenishment of either components or finished goods. In addition to using MRP to plan and purchase inventory requirements from our vendors, both domestic and foreign; work with Vendors, Product Management, Customer Service and the DC to ensure we meet or exceed our customers' expectations while maintaining the proper inventory levels; and working in the JDE, Purchasing, Inventory and MRP systems, Vendor Capacity Planning, analyze inventory levels and communicate daily with Vendors.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Operations, Finance or Marketing
  • 2-5 years of forecasting, buying or planning experience in a distribution or import consumer goods company
  • Strong technical skills (Excel, Access and Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills are required
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in order to meet deadlines

Sales – National Account Manager, Latin America – International

You'll like this job if you have a passion for selling as well as love to vacation or travel in Latin America.

The job in a nutshell is to manage key international account sales; develop new business; and maintain, develop and expand existing customer base for all business units on an international basis. This position will have extensive contact with international customers, prospects, sales representatives and work closely with the existing International Sales Team. This position can be located at our Corporate headquarters in Illinois; or in Latin America. Additional responsibilities are: work with current International Sales team to identify and develop business directly with national and multi-national Retail Chain stores in Latin America; evaluate existing distributor networks and maintain, develop and grow existing key account business with distributors; identify and develop new international accounts and expand sales bases internationally by key geographic location; prepare related sales and budget reports; deliver the budgeted gross margins and sales numbers for key accounts; work with customers to identify their product needs and changes; work with Product Development on the development and/or modifications needed to meet the needs of the international customers; prepare targeted sales presentations for existing and potential customers; and Work with the various departments at Corporate to resolve related issues and problems as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in international sales and sales management at the headquarters/corporate level is required
  • Experience should include working in the mass channel of distribution in the housewares or craft industry
  • Proficiency is required in Spanish and should include both verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent sales, presentation, management, communication, organization and PC/systems skills
  • Knowledge of foreign customs and protocol
  • Current knowledge and understanding of different trade agreements with foreign countries
  • Moderate to heavy foreign travel is required
  • Assist with related projects as needed

Sales – National Account Sales Manager – Wal-Mart Team (Bentonville, AR)

The job in a nutshell is to grow the business and explore new opportunities with our Wal-Mart account; manage all account relationships, which includes account management, marketing, merchandising, promotional planning, supply chain and accounting; work in conjunction with other departments to accomplish these goals; manage account day-to-day business, which includes inventory, shipping and back-orders, charge-backs and other sales related issues; create sales and promotional plans and programs, do business updates and reviews; develop accurate forecasts on an ongoing basis; manage the account's promotional budget; achieve account sales and profitability goals based on the sales plan; create an annual budget based on sales plan and manage spending throughout the year to come in at or under budget; forecast product sales based on customer knowledge; act as the liaison with Marketing to maximize company effectiveness in the field and to apply strategic plan objectives; utilize POS information/reports effectively; and support National Trade Shows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years of related sales experience, Wal-Mart sales experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Strong verbal, written and negotiating skills as well as budget experience
