Outline head and neck with tip 3; widen mouth slightly.
Outline lips with tip 5; pipe in mouth with tip 3 (pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).
Using patterns, cut out ears from cake board. Attach to cake with dots of icing. Outline and fill in ears using tip 3 (pat smooth). Pipe tip 5 dot eyes with tip 3 dot highlights; cover giraffe with tip 18 stars.
For horns, cut a small hole in each gumball and insert a lollipop stick; cover with black icing and insert into cake.
Pipe tip 366 leaves and tip 233 pull-out grass bottom border.
Add tip 5 pull-out tongue. The tongue should be piped with heavy pressure with 2 lines of tip 5 zigzag and then smooth down with finger dipped in cornstarch.
The 2 single lines of zigzag will give the impression of the line down the center.
*Mix Lemon Yellow, Golden Yellow and a little Brown to achieve yellow shade used. Mix chocolate icing and Red-Red to achieve brown shade used.
