Rated 5 out of 5 by from This technique really makes a cupcake look special. This 1M swirl idea is quick and easy to pipe and it adds dimension and colour to a plain cupcake. I liked this idea so much that i decided to teach it to my class of twenty 15 year olds. I let them use their imagination and decorate their cupcakes however they wanted to but they all chose to do the 1m swirl i demonstrated and decorate it with colourful sprinkles. I would recommend this technique to any beginner who wants to boost their confidence. If twenty 15 year olds can master this in one attempt, so can you! Happy Decorating!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This technique was very helpful for me, when I was trying my first steps with cupcake baking and decorating here in Brazil, around 5 years ago. I was looking for a cake design for my wedding, and simply fell in love with the cupcakes from the fancy American Magazines I was then used to read. A little while after my wedding day, I decided to start baking and decorating the cupcakes by myself, I coulnd't stop that will do try and see if I could do such beautiful things on my own... and Wilton's website was my major source of information... and I could say that this technique was the more basic and required one to learn. My family and friends love it specially when the swirls are made of Chocolate Ganache!.. :D Thank you a ton, Wilton!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OH I JUST LOVE THIS PRODUCT! my first swirl ever and it turned out fantastic! and everyone in my family loves cupcakes so i just give them the cupcakes i mess up on! now everyone is happy! :) the best that i know of to do this is i like to hold mine to the side. this helps me a little more with my control. And for people who have never done a swirl with icing i recommend practicing first on a sheet of wax paper. before i even started i practiced on the sheet using different angels to old the bag. find which one suits you and you should be good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the 1m swirl - I made the cake for our daughters wedding, she also wanted 4 dozen cupcakes, at the last minute (afternoon before her morning wedding). I was able to print and use the step by step instructions for the 1m technique to show my fiance how to finish the cupcakes for me while I put the finishing touches on her cake. He decorated all the cupcakes and they looked beautiful. He has never done any type of cake decorating and proudly showed our daughter her cupcakes....Thank you Wilton, I have learned so much from your classes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great way to decorate cupcakes. A little trick to jazz it up, is to stripe the frosting bag with Wilton Food Coloring. Dip a craft-type popsicle stick into the food color of choice ( it can be the same color or all different colors just use a new popsicle stick for each color so not to mix colors) and make at least four lines of the food color in the frosting bag. If you use multiple colors you get a rainbow effect along with swirly cupcakes as instructed here. With the food coloring you get a very pretty almost 3-d effect. Makes a plain cupcake festive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love to make cupcakes and I am always looking for a easier and quicker way to ice them. I saw this technique online and figured I would use it on my next project. Well the only problem was I could not find the tip. My husband eventually just bought the Wilton cupcake kit to solve my dilemna. Wow, what a difference. The cupcakes looked great. I made them for a bake sale and they were the first to go. The swirls look so perfect that they looked store bought. I wish I had the tip for Halloween, it would have made my job easier. This is definitely a technique used often. Thanks!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i love this technique! i make my cupcakes with two different colours eg blue and yellow inside then, make a multicoloured swirl by dividing the icing in half and colouring half blue and half yellow. i put one colour in half of the bag and the other in the oter half. when u pipe it its two colours! plus if you make a mistake on the end part. you can cover it up with a royal icing flower! i decorate lemon cupcakes with tiny umbrellas and a bendy straw sticking out! u can also make cone cupcakes with a swirl and a cherry on top! I LOVE THE 1M SWIRL!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I did it once but on several cupcakes. The first time I did it, I kinda messed up so i just put the icing back in the batch. then i got a few of my cupcakes that didnt come out right and practiced more, wen i got a hang of it I was on a roll. LOL the thing is i have never been to a class or have i ever worked at a bakery but i saw this show on foodnetwork and was amazed, and now people order cakes from me all the time, i just like having to go to the store everytime i need a different tip. But I love that "1M" tip i use it all the time now!!!!
